Captain Don Kubley joins the Waveson Group

A graduate of Gonzaga University Capt. Kubley comes from a 6 generation Pioneer Alaskan family. His great grandfather was one of the founders of Ketchikan.
-Worked as Administrative Assistant to The Alaska State Legislature House Minority
-Has served as Chief of Staff and Legislative Liaison to The Lt. Governor of the State of Alaska.
-Has received a “special appointment” from the Governor of Alaska as Director of the Governor’s Office of Regulatory reform.
-Has received a special citation, passed unanimously, by The Alaska State Legislature honoring him as “Ambassador of The Alaskan Lifestyle” for his lifelong dedication to the betterment of Alaska.
-Was selected “Businessman Of The Year” by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC). It’s Chairman Tom Reynolds said, “Mr. Kubley was selected for his involvement as an Alaskan community and business leader.”.
- Was licensed by the United States Coast Guard in 1982 to Captain commercial, passenger and cargo carrying ships.

Since his departure from the Governor of Alaska’s office in 1981 he has been President of Alaska International Marketing and established himself as one of Alaska’s most well established state and federal lobbyists. His clientele has included: The City of Ketchikan, The Ketchikan Gateway Borough, The City of Saxman, The City of Kodiak, The Kodiak Island Borough, The City of Metlakatla, The City of Wrangell, The City of Prince Rupert, The City of Haines, The City of Bethel, The City of Old Harbor, The City of Ouzinki, Louisiana Pacific, Dome Petroleum, The Alaska Native Brotherhood, The Tlingit Haida Central Council of Indians, Valley Hospital, NPI Timber Inc., The International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots, The Marine Engineers Beneficial Association, SunBelt Water Inc., Alaska International Marketing, The Alaska Education Association, Samson Tug and Barge Inc., Yutana Barge Lines, The Alaska Forest Association Trust, Georal International, MatSu Regional Hospital, Alaska Power Sports Association, among many others.
He has extensive experience and notable achievements in planning, organizing and conducting International business while bringing large, complex technical and initiative projects to successful conclusion. Recognized as a driving force behind the first commercial spaceport in America and strategic satellite launch facility on Kodiak Island. Cost of this facility was in excess of $120MM US. The Kodiak Launch Complex is also a major component of the developing U.S. Missile Defense Shield. He has cultivated and established strong, productive ties to the political structure of the U.S. Government and the State of Alaska in his 25 year career. He has done business in over 20 countries. His strong communication and marketing skills and essential public and corporate contacts will enhance our public relations and communications.
